Bob Weiss assumed the role of General Counsel of Development Specialists, Inc. effective July 2012.
While headquartered in DSI’s New York and Chicago offices, Mr. Weiss will be responsible for DSI’s legal affairs throughout the country.
Before joining DSI, Mr. Weiss was a senior partner at the law firm of Honigman Miller Schwartz and Cohn, where he headed the firm’s Commercial, Restructuring and Bankruptcy practice. He was one of the pioneers in the development and refinement of supply chain protection in the automotive and related industries. He, along with his partners, developed and refined the protocol and processes for dealing with critical, single-source suppliers in the “just in time inventory” context, which has become the industry standard.
During the course of his 30 year tenure at Honigman, Mr. Weiss led the firm’s engagement in a number of major restructuring/bankruptcies, including the firm’s assignment as one of the three counsels for the debtor in the General Motors Corporation Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings. Prior to joining Honigman, Mr. Weiss was a member of the General Motors Corporation legal staff.
